Amvrazis Nikos
Nikos Amvrazis studied Greek Philology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He pursued his postgraduate studies in linguistics (Teaching Greek as a Second/Foreign Language) at the same university, where he also completed his doctoral dissertation on “The acquisition of subjects in Greek as L2” in 2013. His research interests focus on the relationship between teaching methods and learning, the role of methodological tools in capturing the linguistic behavior of speakers, the creation and analysis of corpora, and the development and implementation of digital tools for language teaching. He has taught Greek as L2 at the School of Modern Greek Language of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1998-2015), as well as in various institutions (UNESCO Chair, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, American College, International Hellenic University). Additionally, he has participated in research projects, including Campus Europae for the design of digital media to support distance learning (IKY Award, 2018), Leonardo DaVinci for the development and standardization of methods for teaching less commonly spoken European languages, and LAL2A (ELIDEK) for the creation of the GLCII, which highlights hidden aspects of L2 acquisition.
Beyond the field of teaching, he has delivered a series of lectures in teacher training programs focusing on acquiring tools for teaching vulnerable populations. The Teach for Integration program is a recent example (2018-2023), preceded by Education for Foreign and Repatriated Students (2012-2013) and Phryctories (2004-2005).
