Despina Papadopoulou is professor of linguistics. Her scientific interests focus on the fields of psycholinguistics and second/foreign language learning & teaching. In particular, her research lies in the areas of language processing, language acquisition, bilingualism, learning and teaching Greek as a second/foreign language, migrant & refugee education and language disorders. She has given lectures and seminars to various Universities in Greece and abroad, such as National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, University of Konstanz, University of Geneva, University of Granada, Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt etc. Her papers have been published in international refereed journals such as Second Language Research, International Journal of Bilingualism, Journal of Phycholinguistic Research, Studies in Second Language Acquisition, Glossa, Journal of Linguistics, Aphasiology, International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism, International Journal of Bilingualism, Bilingualism: Language and Cognition etc. She has coordinated and participated in several research programs funded by European and national bodies and she is coordinating the teacher training program “Teach for Integration” funded by UNICEF. She has reviewed a great number of scientific papers in many international journals as well as in Greek and international conferences.
