Samara Demetra
Demetra Samara was born in Thessaloniki. She graduated from the School of Philology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (BA 1997). She pursued postgraduate studies in the same School (MA 2002, PhD 2014), specializing in Medieval Greek Philology. She worked as a teacher in Greek Secondary Education from 2002 to 2020. In the academic year 2013-2014 she worked for the Centre for the Greek Language. During the years 2015-2019 she taught and conducted research for the Department of Medieval and Modern Greek Studies at the School of Philology, AUTh. Since September 2020 she has been a member of the Laboratory and Teaching Staff of the Department of Medieval Greek Studies at the School of Philology, AUTh. Her main areas of interest include rhetoric, hagiography, epistolography, and poetry in the Palaeologan era.
