Petkou Efi
Efi Ch. Petkou is a graduate of the Department of Philology (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and holds postgraduate and doctoral degrees from the same department. She was also awarded an annual scholarship from the Research Committee of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1995-1996). She worked at the Institute of Modern Greek Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1997-2000) and she taught seminar courses (2001-2002: postgraduate programme of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki “Modern Greek Studies and Culture (European, Balkan, Eastern)”. She participated in research projects of the National Book Centre (1998: “The presence of the book in post-war fiction”) and the Centre for the Greek Language (2000, 2007-2011: “Creation of an electronic hub to support the teaching of the Greek language in the secondary education”, “The reception of foreign literature in 19th century Greece. “The reception of foreign literature in 19th century Greece via magazines (1831-1900)”, “Compilation of an archive of review notes in the daily and periodical press”, “Digitization and enrichment with digital resources of the textbooks of Modern Greek Literature in the secondary education”). She taught in public secondary education (2001-2017) and participated in the project “Open Academic Courses of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki” (2013-2015) as a scientific collaborator supporting the development of digital courses of the Department of Philology (“Poets of Thessaloniki: Manolis Anagnostakis (1925-2005)”, “Vincenzo Kornaros”, “Reflections of the place in older literature”). Since October 2007 she has been teaching as a member of the teaching staff at the Hellenic Open University and since October 2017 she has been teaching at the Department of Philology as a member of the laboratory teaching staff. Her research interests focus on 19th and 20th century Modern Greek poetry and prose, as well as on issues of literary criticism, literary translation and the teaching of literature. She has published her studies in literary journals, collective volumes and conference proceedings. She edited in collaboration with Pan. Moullas and Maria Vertsoni – Kokoli the book Correspondence (1895-1959), Manolis Triantaphyllidis, Thessaloniki: Institute of modern Greek studies, Manolis Triandaphyllidis Foundation, Thessaloniki 2001.
