Novokhatko Anna
Anna A. Novokhatko studied Classics at the Universities Lomonossov of Moscow and Humbold-Universität zu Berlin (B.A. and M.A. 2000) and continued her PhD studies at the Universities Lomonossov of Moscow and Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (Ph.D 2004). She has taught Ancient Greek and Latin Language and Literature at the Universities Lomonossov of Moscow (2003-2006), and Freiburg (2008-2019). Since 2020 she is Associate Professor of Classical Philology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Her research interests include cognitive studies, cognitive theories of metaphor and ancient considerations on metaphor, history and terminology of ancient scholarship, textual criticism, ancient Greek comedy. Furthermore, she is interested in methodologies and development of Digital Classics. She is member of the working group Digital Classics (BridgeClassics), Institut für Klassische Philologie, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (https://www.klassphil.hu-berlin.de/de/ak-bridgeclassics), and participates in/leads various research projects.
She has written the books Greek comedy and embodied scholarly discourse (De Gruyter 2023) and The Invectives of Sallust and Cicero: critical edition with introduction, translation, and commentary (Walter de Gruyter 2009) and co-edited ten volumes. She has also published in journals and collective volumes.
